We have a meeting with the tour guide to explain the trekking.
Day 1: Chilca - Llactapata (L, D)
Depart Cusco early morning by bus and drive through the Sacred Valley to Chilca (K77), where we begin the Inca Trail. Following the Urubamba river, we enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped Mount Veronica (5720 m.). We continue through lush farmland and woodlands to our first campsite at Llactapata, where we will explore the archeological remains.
Day 2: Llactapata - Llullucha (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we begin our ascent through the Cusicacha river valley to Huayabamba (3000 m.). Here, we enter an eco-climate that supports a wide variety of plant, flower, and bird species. Our trek continues to Yunkachinpa, where we lunch along the stream with a spectacular view of Mount Huayanay (5460 m.) In the afternoon, we head up through the cloud forest and onto the puna grasslands of Llulluchapampa (3600 m.) to camp for the night.
Day 3: Llullucha - Phuyupatamarca (B, L, D)
After approximately one hour of walking, we make our first pass at the highest point in our trip, Warmiwanusca (4,200 m.). From here, we descend into the Pacamayo river valley, then up to the circular Inca ruins of Runcuracay. Following the ancient Inca steps along one of the most stunning sections of our trek, we descend upon the Inca complex of Sayacmarca. After wandering the site, we head for camp at Phuyupatamarca, where we enjoy an astonishing panoramic view of both the Vilcanota and Vilcabamba mountain ranges.
Day 4: Phuyupatamarca – Machu Picchu (B, BL)
Our morning begins with a tour of the incredibly complex and unique Inca remains of Phuyupatamarca. Continuing down through the tropical cloud forest, we arrive to some of the most spectacular and important ruins before reaching Machu Picchu: Intipata and Winay Wayna. Leaving Winay Wayna, this last section of trail, leads us to Intipunku (Sun Gate), where we get our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. We will have an official tour of this amazing archeological wonder, and then take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and the train back to Cusco.

Choquequirao 5D/4N

Description:
Choquequirao is located in the Southeastern part of the Cusco city, between the department of Cusco and the department of Apurímac; this is a magnificent variant to know instead of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. In a long five days walk, mountains with variety of flora and fauna will be combined. The ruins have been cleaned today partially by COPESCO, the governmental institution responsible for the tourism in Peru. In the route to Choquequirao, climate is varied, from inter Andean warm zone, to forest eyebrow.
The Choquequirao name means “Gold Cradle”, and this city is considered, like sister of Machu Picchu by its similarities. Both are to 1500 meters over a river: Choquequirao - river Apurímac and Machu Picchu - Urubamba River. It was an administrative and religious center. It covers more than 8 hectares and only a single third have been discovered. The archaeologists discover more every day.

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chiquisca (L, D)
5.00 a.m. We left Cusco in a private mobility that will take us until the little town of Cachora. There our carriers and mules for the load will be waiting for us. We’ll be walking approximately 6 hours, lowering the tube of the Apurímac until Chiquisca to 1800 meters where we will encamp.
Day 2: Chiquisca - Maranpata - Choquequirao (B, L, D)
After a succulent breakfast we began our long walk towards the Apurímac river. After crossing the bridge the ascent of approximately 5 hours begins, until arriving at Maranpata where we will have lunch. A couple of hours later we will arrive at Choquequirao where we will encamp.
Day 3: Choquequirao (B, L, D)
We will visit the archaeological complex of Choquequirao.
Day 4: Choquequirao - Santa Rosa - Chiquisca (B, L, D)
In the morning after the breakfast we are going to begin the reduction until Santa Rosa, where we will have lunch. Approximately 6 hours during the day until Chiquisca.
Day 5: Chiquisca - Cachora - Cusco (B)
After the breakfast we began the ascent of 3 hours plus 2 hours walk more in plane until Cachora, where a private transport will be waiting to return us to Cusco, arriving at 6.00 p.m.

Choquequirao – Machu Picchu 9D/8N

The Vilcabamba Mountain range has different climates and species of animals like the bear of eyeglasses, the fox, the llamas, the condor and many more. We will walk from the depths of the Tube from the Apurímac River to 1.550 meters to passages of 4.600 meters of height.
The valleys of this tube are surrounded by high glacial mountains and, where the old settlers complied in harmony with the nature and settled down a civilization with a high social and technological order. Getting to be one from the great civilized centers of the old world, where the glacial, the tropical humid forest and the Amazonía get together.
Choquequirao (gold Cradle) is the city sister of Machu Picchu, located in similar places in the heights on the tube of a river, in almost inaccessible places, with a Vista spectacular and interconnected by the Inca trail.

We will visit the archaeological complex of Choquequirao.
Day 4: Choquequirao - Maizal (B, L, D)
After we take a walk by the ruins we left by the back part, passing by a humid forest until the passage of Choquequirao. Soon we continued by some terraces called Pincha Huniyoc, that mean where the water jumps. These terraces have peculiar ritual sources. It seems that here they cultivated in time of the Incas to provide to the city of food. We continued descending towards Rio Blanco where we’ll have lunch. In afternoon we will raise towards Maizal where we will encamp.
Day 5: Maizal - Yanama (B, L, D)
We’ll walk around the Snow-covered Corihuarachina, important because have been archaeological rest, like channels Incas. Later following a section of the Inca Trail we arrived at the passage from Minas Victoria where at time of the Colony the Spaniards extracted silver. We’ll continue towards the spectacular Valley of Yanama under the shade of the Snow-covered Pumasillo where we will encamp.
Day 6: Yanama - Totora (B, L, D)
After a delicious breakfast, we´ll be walking surrounded by beautiful mountains of the Vilcabamba Mountain range, raising towards the passage of Yanama, upper of our passage. In the afternoon we lowered following a river until the little town of Totora, where there is an exquisite tranquility and pure air surrounded by the glacial ones, Salcantay, Pumasillo and Padreyoc.
Day 7: Totora - The beach (B, L, D)
We left early and will begin the reduction following TheTotora River, that way we can get into a tropical humid forest happening through another little town in Lluscamayo. Soon the route continues by the left flank of the River Santa Teresa, where we will see plantations, of bananas, granadillas, cacao, coffee and others. Arriving soon at a plain of natural grass, where we will encamp.
Day 8: Paltallacta – Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)
From early we followed the way by the river Santa Teresa, passing by plantations of bananas, granadillas, cacao and coffee. Soon we crossed to the other side of the river and raised by the humid forest the passage of Puncuyuc, soon to descend to our camping in Paltallacta. The panoramic view is spectacular, because we will see from a different angle the back part of the Sanctuary from Machu Picchu. Then we descend by a route from flowers and orquídeas until the Acobamba River and crossed a metallic bridge near the hydroelectric power station. Soon we will arrive at the line of the train, where we can wait for the arrival of the train that took to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel and we will relax in its thermal Baths.
Day 9: Aguas Calientes - Cusco (B, BL)
Early in the morning we get in the bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, to have a guided visit of this wonder of the world. Later in the afternoon we will take the return train to Cusco.

Day 7th: Choquetacarpo – Huancacalle (B, L, D)
After a healthy breakfast we continue our trek until Choquetacarpo pass, then we got a 4 hours walk towards Huancacalle where we rest in a hostel.
Day 8th: Ñusta Hispana – Vitcos (B, L, D)
We will visit Vitcos Palace in Rosaspata ruins, visit Manco Inca tomb and Ñusta Hispana stone.
Day 9th: Huancacalle – Hatum Pampa (B, L, D)
After a succulent breakfast we began our long trek. We begin the ascent of approximately 3 hours, after the descent for 3 hours and a short but strong ascent for 1 hour more until Hatum Pampa, where we will encamp.
Day 10th: Hatum Pampa – Yanatile - Santa Teresa (B, L, D)
We’ll walk for 6 hours until Yanatile, after we take a bus until Santa Teresa where we will rest in a hostal.
Day 11st: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)

We left Cusco in a private mobility that will take us until Quillabamba city and after until Huancacalle city, where we will rest in a familiar hostel.
Day 2: Ñusta Hispana – Vitcos (B, L, D)
We will visit Vitcos Palace in Rosaspata ruins, visit Manco Inca tomb and Ñusta Hispana stone. The first owner of this city was Manco Inca and after his son Tito Cusi Yupanqui.
His location is strategy because it’s in the middle of Choquequirao, Machu Picchu & Espiritu Pampa.
Day 3: Huancacalle – Hatum Pampa (B, L, D)
After a succulent breakfast we began our long trek. We begin the ascent of approximately 3 hours, after the descent for 3 hours and a short but strong ascent for 1 hour more until Hatum Pampa, where we will encamp.

Very early we hill go to the archaeological complex of Choquequirao for 2nd time. We will have a relax time there. We continued ascending passing by a humid forest until the passage of Choquequirao and after we will descend for 3 hours until Pincha Huniyoc (where the water jumps). There are terraces with curious ritual fountains and Inca’s Channel working yet.
Day 5: Pincha Huniyoc - Maizal (B, L, D)
After the breakfast we continued descending towards Rio Blanco (1,800 meters) where we will have lunch. In afternoon we will raise towards Maizal where we will encamp. We will see the Salcantay snow mountain range and Corihuayrachina Mountain.
Day 6: Corihuayrachina (B, L, D)
We will visit the archaeological rest of Corihuayrachina in the top of the mountain. This place is unexplored yet. It has square, circular precincts, Inca’s channels and vestige of plundered treasures.
Day 7: Maizal - Yanama (B, L, D)
We will walk around the Snow-covered Corihuarachina, important because have been archaeological rest, like channels Incas. Later following a section of the Inca Trail we arrived at the passage from Minas Victoria where at time of the Colony the Spaniards extracted silver. We will continue towards the spectacular Valley of Yanama under the shade of the Snow-covered Pumasillo where we will encamp.
Day 8: Yanama – Choquetacarpo (B, L, D)
After a 1 hour ascense we get into a part of the Inca trail for 5 hours, where there is a canyon full of mysticism where we will rest. This place is called Colca Pampa to 4,300 meters.
Day 9: Choquetacarpo – Huancacalle (B, L, D)
Today is harder. After a healthy breakfast we continue our trek until Choquetacarpo pass (4,720 meters), then we get into a long beautiful part of the Inca Trail for 3 hours until Punta Carretera. After we will continued to Huancacalle for 3 hours more where we will rest in a hostel.
Day 10: Rosaspata – Vitcos (B, L, D)
We will visit Vitcos Palace in Rosaspata ruins, visit Manco Inca tomb and Ñusta Hispana stone.
The first owner of this city was Manco Inca and after his son Tito Cusi Yupanqui.
His location is strategy because it’s in the middle of Choquequirao, Machu Picchu & Espiritu Pampa.
In the afternoon, we could rest a lot because we are in the middle of the expedition.
Day 11: Huancacalle – Colpacasa (B, L, D)
We will continue our way into the mountains, between beautiful landscapes with small rivers and fallen until Colpacasa where we will camp. In the middle of the way we will meet some cities how Vilcabamba La Nueva and his colonial church.
Day 12: Colpacasa – Vista Alegre (B, L, D)
We continue descending until Vilcabamba valley, following the Pampaconas River. Here we could look parts of the Inca Trail in the middle of descend. Our destination is the riverside of Vista Alegre valley where we will camp.
Day 13: Vista Alegre – Concevidayoc (B, L, D)
Our way is between Concevidayoc valley where we could look incredible orchis (especially the Peruvian rupicola), a variety of butterfly and a perfect part of the Inca Trail.
Day 14: Concevidayoc – Espiritu Pampa (B, L, D)
Taday we Hill walk for 3 hours until Espiritu Pampa by a part of the Inca Trail.
In the afternoon we will have time to explore the last place of the Incas. There we could look a stone bridge, squares, terraces, a stone monolith, fountains and a lot of rooms. In this city lived 40,000 habitants.
Day 15: Espiritu Pampa (B, L, D)
We will visit the lost City of Espiritu Pampa.
Day 16: Espiritu Pampa (B, L, D)
We Hill rest free all the day.
Day 17: Espiritu Pampa – Chiwankiri (B, L, D)
After a rest day we will star to walk for 4 hours to Chiwankiri, a small city before Quillabamba.
Day 18: Chiwankiri – Kiteni – Quillabamba (B, L, D)
We travel by our private transportation to Quillabamba City during the day. We will spend the night in a hostel in Quillabamba.
Day 19: Quillabamba (B, L, D)
We will visit Siete Tinajas Fallen and Echerati Park.
Day 20: Quillabamba – Cusco (B, L, D)
From early we followed the way by our private transportation by 8 hours until Cusco.

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chiquisca (L, D)
5.00 a.m. We left Cusco in a private transport that will take us until the little town of Cachora. There our carriers and mules for the load will be waiting for us. We will be walking approximately 6 hours, lowering the tube of the Apurímac until Chiquisca to 1800 meters where we will encamp.
Day 2: Chiquisca - Maranpata - Choquequirao (B, L, D)
After a succulent breakfast we began our long walk towards the Apurímac River. After crossing the bridge the ascent of approximately 5 hours begins, until arriving at Maranpata where we will have lunch. A couple of hours later we will arrive at Choquequirao where we will encamp.
Day 3: Choquequirao (B, L, D)
We will visit the archaeological complex of Choquequirao.
Day 4: Choquequirao – Pincha Huniyoc (B, L, D)
Very early we hill go to the archaeological complex of Choquequirao for 2nd time. We will have a relax time there. We continued ascending passing by a humid forest until the passage of Choquequirao and after we will descend for 3 hours until Pincha Huniyoc (where the water jumps). There are terraces with curious ritual fountains and Inca’s Channel working yet.
Day 5: Pincha Huniyoc - Maizal (B, L, D)
After the breakfast we continued descending towards Rio Blanco (1,800 meters) where we will have lunch. In afternoon we will raise towards Maizal where we will encamp. We will see the Salcantay snow mountain range and Corihuayrachina Mountain.
Day 6: Corihuayrachina (B, L, D)
We will visit the archaeological rest of Corihuayrachina in the top of the mountain. This place is unexplored yet. It has square, circular precincts, Inca’s channels and vestige of plundered treasures.
Day 7: Maizal - Yanama (B, L, D)
We will walk around the Snow-covered Corihuarachina, important because have been archaeological rest, like channels Incas. Later following a section of the Inca Trail we arrived at the passage from Minas Victoria where at time of the Colony the Spaniards extracted silver. We will continue towards the spectacular Valley of Yanama under the shade of the Snow-covered Pumasillo where we will encamp.
Day 8: Yanama – Choquetacarpo (B, L, D)
After a 1 hour ascense we get into a part of the Inca trail for 5 hours, where there is a canyon full of mysticism where we will rest. This place is called Colca Pampa to 4,300 meters.
Day 9: Choquetacarpo – Huancacalle (B, L, D)
Today is harder. After a healthy breakfast we continue our trek until Choquetacarpo pass (4,720 meters), then we get into a long beautiful part of the Inca Trail for 3 hours until Punta Carretera. After we will continued to Huancacalle for 3 hours more where we will rest in a hostel.
Day 10: Rosaspata – Vitcos (B, L, D)
We will visit Vitcos Palace in Rosaspata ruins, visit Manco Inca tomb and Ñusta Hispana stone.
The first owner of this city was Manco Inca and after his son Tito Cusi Yupanqui.
His location is strategy because it’s in the middle of Choquequirao, Machu Picchu & Espiritu Pampa.
In the afternoon, we could rest a lot because we are in the middle of the expedition.
Day 11: Huancacalle – Colpacasa (B, L, D)
We will continue our way into the mountains, between beautiful landscapes with small rivers and fallen until Colpacasa where we will camp. In the middle of the way we will meet some cities how Vilcabamba La Nueva and his colonial church.
Day 12: Colpacasa – Vista Alegre (B, L, D)
We continue descending until Vilcabamba valley, following the Pampaconas River. Here we could look parts of the Inca Trail in the middle of descend. Our destination is the riverside of Vista Alegre valley where we will camp.
Day 13: Vista Alegre – Concevidayoc (B, L, D)
Our way is between Concevidayoc valley where we could look incredible orchis (especially the Peruvian rupicola), a variety of butterfly and a perfect part of the Inca Trail.
Day 14: Concevidayoc – Espiritu Pampa (B, L, D)
Taday we Hill walk for 3 hours until Espiritu Pampa by a part of the Inca Trail.
In the afternoon we will have time to explore the last place of the Incas. There we could look a stone bridge, squares, terraces, a stone monolith, fountains and a lot of rooms. In this city lived 40,000 habitants.
Day 15: Espiritu Pampa (B, L, D)
We will visit the lost City of Espiritu Pampa.
Day 16: Espiritu Pampa (B, L, D)
We Hill rest free all the day.
Day 17: Espiritu Pampa – Chiwankiri (B, L, D)
After a rest day we will star to walk for 4 hours to Chiwankiri, a small city before Quillabamba.
Day 18: Chiwankiri – Kiteni – Quillabamba (B, L, D)
We travel by our private transportation to Quillabamba City during the day. We will spend the night in a hostel in Quillabamba.
Day 19: Quillabamba (B, L, D)
We will visit Siete Tinajas Fallen and Echerati Park.
Day 20: Quillabamba - Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)
From early we followed the way by our private transportation to Santa Teresa, passing by plantations of bananas, granadillas, cacao and coffee. Then we descend walking by a route from flowers and orchis until the Acobamba River and crossed a metallic bridge near the hydroelectric power station. Soon we will arrive at the line of the train, where we can wait for the arrival of the train or walk to Aguas Calientes. During this ways the panoramic view is spectacular, because we will see from a different angle the back part of the Sanctuary from Machu Picchu. We will spend the night in a hostel in Aguas Calientes and we will relax in its thermal Baths (optional).
Day 21: Machu Picchu (B, L, D)
Early in the morning we get in the bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, to have a guided visit of this wonder of the world. After if we don’t tire we could climb Huayna Picchu Mountain and take panoramic photos of Machu Picchu.
Day 22: Aguas Calientes - Cusco (B)
In the morning we will take the return train to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley and by private transportation until Cusco.
